Commisioning a picture makes a unique and thoughtful present. An image of a house, a corner of the garden, or maybe a place you have visited which has a special association!

The Process

I work mostly from photographic reference provided by you. I will ask you to send some photographs so we have a choice of views to work from. For example, if it’s your home, taking the picture from different angles and not always straight on is great. The time of day when the sun is illuminating the house, and casting some interesting shadows is good too. I can show you examples if you are not a naturally confident photographer.

If you want to capture a particular holiday, then I can source reference of say, that romantic weekend away or an unforgettable family trip.

‘House portraits’ are 300 Euros using good quality photos as reference, supplied by you. Finished artwork is 29 x 42 cm on archival watercolour paper using watercolor, inks and pencil, un-mounted, unframed. If you would like a different size to fit an existing frame or mount, then please do ask.

50% of the fee is in advance and further 50% on completion.

I will send the painting recorded delivery and will let you know the postage charges, or alternatively you can pick up directly from the studio, to see where the art ‘happens’.

Allow a completion time of 3 weeks, this may be less.

Please note the fee for commissioning a painting will be different if it is to be reproduced on a product, in magazine etc. This involves a licensing fee which varies from very little if you are small business or more if you are an international company.
