At the beginning of 2021 we started to build the atelier and teeny shop lovingly called the shopette. This was our Covid project. Our typical french farmhouse restored over many years, first as a holiday home and now our permanent residence has views of the pyrenees, but away from the house the barn had really great landscapes that we couldn’t fully enjoy. Our aim was to create a purpose built studio which had inspiring views across the landscape that surrounds our house..

Two years later, apart from a few bits of snagging we have our studio space filled with light and space to create and exhibit. Trained as a textile designer and illustrator, and latterly a design lecturer, I now have a studio in which to make and teach.

The plan is to run short courses in a variety of creative activities. These courses vary from printmaking to experimenting with mixed media. It’s also a great space to hire for talks, exhibitions, makers markets and networking,

Facilities at the Atelier include a separate shop space, coffee point with fridge and microwave, coat hanging area, toilet, OHP, WIFI, and dedicated art sink. There are directional spotlights and picture hanging rails. The space can be heated with a pellet burining stove plus electric radiators.
